My Photography Journey
I remember picking up a camera when I was a teenager and trying to get some photographs for a competition my parents encouraged me to enter. That didn't turn out so well, but I sure had fun!
I have had a camera on me at most events, but only for snapping the moment rather than for any other artistic reason. Even when I had two beautiful daughters of my own, I still saw photography as a way to help remember events and milestones, rather than a way of producing art.
By chance at a Kindergarten family picnic I took a photograph of my youngest daughter that I fell in love with. BANG it all started!! Being a "why" person I wanted to know what it was about this photograph that seemed different. What made it work?
At this same time my husband encouraged me to enter some photographs into a local competition. When I received 3rd prize, I was shocked but ecstatic. I purchased my first DSLR camera and started reading, researching, seeking inspiration and art through photography.
I soon started taking more and more photographs and taking courses as I went along, to help my passion grow. I have really loved this journey and I adore working with couples, newborns and families. The wonderful and exciting thing about photography is that you get the opportunity to share and capture a tiny piece of person's life. And hey, life is an amazing journey that we all want to remember, and share with generations to come!!
